Cinnamon Rolls

With these cinnamon rolls, you can have your cake and eat it too. Rediculously delicious, easy and made from wholesome ingredients, they tick every box!

Preparation Time: 1 hour 15 mins

Dough:
  • 1 cup milk warmed (non-dairy milk works great)
  • 2 Tablespoons dry yeast
  • 3 Tablespoons honey
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3.5 cups wholewheat flour
Cinnamon filling:
  • 1 cup coconut sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
  • 3.5 Tablespoons cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup oil/coconut oil or butter softened

Method:
  1. In a bowl mix the warmed milk, yeast and honey. Allow to sit and bubble for 5 minutes.
  2. Add the oil and egg and mix.
  3. Add the flour and salt and knead until a smooth dough. Allow the dough to rest for 10 minutes.
  4. Create the cinnamon filling by mixing coconut sugar, vanilla and cinnamon.
  5. Roll out the dough to a thin large square.
  6. Spread the oil/coconut oil/butter over the dough, and sprinkle the cinnamon and sugar mixture over the dough. The more generously the oil/butter is spread, the gooier the cinnamon rolls will turn out!
  7. Roll up the dough to make a long log. Cut the log into 10-12 equal slices and arrange the round buns in a greased baking dish.
  8. Allow to rest again and rise for another 15 minutes.
  9. Bake at 180 for 15-20 minutes.

Served alongside our Zoe Floral Linen Napkins.
